This makes for a calm paddling experience on a 470-acre reservoir with 9.6 miles of scenic shoreline. The boat launch, located at 3266 N Shore Road in Hadley, NY, features a hard surface for trailer boats, along with spots for hand launching. With ample parking for 44 cars and trailers, this is an accessible spot for all types of paddlers.

Stewarts Pond Boat Launch

The boat launch at Stewarts Bridge Reservoir, located at 3266 N Shore Road, Hadley, NY, is a well-maintained, hard-surface site suitable for both trailered and hand-launched boats. It offers easy float-on/float-off access, with additional spots for hand launching away from trailer traffic. The large parking area accommodates up to 44 vehicles with trailers, ensuring plenty of space for paddlers. Managed by the DEC, the launch provides smooth access to the reservoir’s calm waters.

Stewarts Bridge, located in Saratoga, NY, is a major hydroelectric dam on the Sacandaga River, completed in 1952. Standing at 112 feet high and 1860 feet long, it plays a vital role in hydroelectric power generation and regional water resource management. The dam has a storage capacity of 18,600 acre-feet and manages a drainage area of 1054 square miles. The reservoir formed by Stewarts Bridge is the first impoundment of the Sacandaga River, located about 3 miles upstream from the Hudson River, with the Conklingville Dam marking its western boundary.
